Anaerobic digesters (ADs) are growing in popularity on NC animal farms to manage swine, cattle, and poultry manures. Digesters produce biogas which is a renewable fuel resource, in addition to the digestate. In 2023, NC WPSOCC approved a new training course titled, "Animal Waste Biogas Digester Operator Training". This 3-hour course covers important aspects of digester operations. Need-to-knows (NTKs) covered in this training course are available. The course will be offered twice a year (Spring and Fall).
