A two-year project focused on N management for crabgrass as a forage is wrapping up this year. The project is evaluating the effects of N sources (urea ammonium sulfate vs poultry litter) and application rate on crabgrass productivity and weed pressure. In this video, Steph Sosinski, a graduate student and research technician in Crop and Soil Sciences, discusses her project. Join us at Extension meetings later this year to hear more about this work and discuss the benefits and challenges of utilizing poultry litter as a fertility source when establishing crabgrass.
